Senator Ted Stevens in Parodyville USA

Two funny things crossed my desk today.

The first was a story about the plethora of parodies that have cropped up since Senator Ted Stevens, the chairman of the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee, described the Internet as a "series of tubes" during a debate on net neutrality. My personal favorite is the techno dance mix version of his speech.

The second was a study that found that Wi-Fi users aren't freeloaders. Here's the funny part: the study tracked Wi-Fi usage at five Paris branches of coffee chain Columbus Café -- by definition already filled with slow-drinking loiterers. Take the study to a city in the northeastern U.S. (not naming any names) and I'd be willing to bet you get a dramatically different result. Anyone out there want to conduct such a study for us?
